Christmas Tree - 2006

So this is this years Christmas tree. When I took the picture, the tree lights were on, but it was daytime and they don't show up very well. Usually I have help decorating the tree from hubby and Amber, but this year I was on my own. So I just put the Christmas cd's in the player and went to town. It only took me ALL DAY! Now I can finish with the other decorating but I feel good knowing that at least the tree is up now!

The tree skirt was made by my mil several years ago as a Christmas gift to hubby and me......back when we (she and I) were still speaking to each other. It is a really nice tree skirt and I do like it and appreciate the fact that she made it for us. Homemade gifts are awesome!

Even though we don't really speak anymore and I won't be attending any family Christmas festivities at her home, I do wish her a Merry Christmas!

As you know, I'm exceptionally sentimental and so handmade things are the best things in my mind!

I need to take pics of my house and the tree from this year. Its the first time I've had lights on my house and I feel like a little kid every time I see them.

Happy Holiday season to you!!! Hugs!!!

LOVE the tree and the skirt. It always amazes me as how you take something so simple and do such a great write-up on it. You're good.

there's something about putting up "the tree" isn't there. i'm not sure what it is, but it's kinda like a "rite of passage" into the holiday season :)
