I was awakened this morning with a severe pain in my right calf. I could hardly even move my leg it hurt so bad. So I jumped out of bed and fell right on the floor. I had such a knot in my calf about the size of a golf ball! Man.....that was terrible! I don't know what causes them. Some people say the lack of potassium and others say to drink plenty of water. I drink lots of water, and I eat food with plenty of potassium. Now what.....any ideas floating around out there?

The cardiologist did take me off one of my meds because that med was causing fluid retention in my feet and ankles but he didn't say anything about expecting some side effects from going off it.

Anyway, the knot is gone now but it remains very sore to just barely touch it. It's seriously going to hamper my walk today!!!!

Yep, had that happen to me. Seriously.

It is from the lack of potassium.

Here's a tip I-Mom....eat a few bananas every once in a while.

I got those too! Had 'em when I was pregnant with my son. Banana's are the best thing for 'em!

(Plus take two Advil and call me in the morning!)

Yikes! I've fallen on the floor getting out of bed one too many times (even once when I was big-pregnant), but it was because my legs were 'asleep'.
Don't you hate that?

I got them terribly when I was pregnant. I got told to make sure I was drinking lots of water and to have a glass of non-alcoholic lemon, lime & bitter every day. I'm not sure why it worked, but it did. Something to do with the bitter... Can't hurt to try it.

Depending on how all your tests came out...but I don't think it would be a bad thing to mention it.

Wish I had some advise for ya, but I don't. I get "charlie horses" in my calves, and it brings me to tears. I drink about 1 cup pickle juice, and the pain seems to go away, and I don't get them for a long time. Good luck with that!
