Getting anxious!

I am getting so anxious. I am already having trouble sleeping at night and I'm not leaving for another week. Once I decided to go, I didn't realize that waiting would be so very hard. Maybe as I age I'm losing more of my patience!

I went shopping today to buy something to wear to the "Evening Garden Reception". I went thinking that I wouldn't be able to find anything that I liked. Naive went with me. Much to my surprise I was able to find a skirt that I liked and was lucky enough to match a tank and cardigan sweater set to go with it. And it didn't even cost that much. It's casual and yet dressy enough for the occasion. I'm pretty happy with it.

My granddaughter, Naive's daughter, received a special honor. She has been invited to attend The Congressional Youth Leadership Council in our state capital this coming January. The only way to get the invitation is to be nominated by one of your teachers and then you have to be accepted by the Congressional Board. I am so very proud of her. She is only going to be a freshman in high school this coming year and she has so much savvy already. More than I ever thought of having when I was her age. But then, having a mom like Naive, it is no wonder she is awesome. Okay, the proud grandma will now change subjects! Sorry, just had to brag a minute!!
Thanks for putting up with me!

chesneygirl - you are correct in your assumption about naive's daughter. She is beautiful, isn't she?

She's gonna hate that you used that picture. I should have given you one of her in her formal dress at the banquet.

You have such beautiful children/grandchildren. And you have a lot to be proud of. Sounds like 3 generations of ladies are doing something very right!

Of course you had to brag a minute! First of all, a person who hates shopping had success buying new clothes. As one of those people, I appreciate that this is huge. As a mom, I of course appreciate it is not as huge as your grand-daughter's amazing accomplishment. But, put them togeher and you had an amazing day, lady! Congrats!

p.s.--Thanks for all your kind words on my blog. I always smile when I see you've stopped by. Have a safe trip ... I can't wait to hear all about it!
