Feeling Much Better

Wow, I can't believe how much better I feel. Of course, I slept until almost 1:30 PM yesterday....then had trouble sleeping last night but finally fell asleep and now I am up and feeling pretty good. I think I will still take it easy for today though. I think I had the respiratory flu and maybe I wasn't as hard hit as some because of the flu shot I had last October. Whatever the reason, I'm glad to be feeling better!

I have a new microwave! I forgot to mention that we went shopping last Saturday evening and purchased a replacement for the one that succumbed to overuse. It's similar to the old one, just a different make but does look a lot like the other. So now I can make the quick Mac-n-Cheese.....but the need is no longer there. That little girl was returned to her mother on Saturday. I can't believe that she arrived here without having eaten any supper. When mine were small, I always made sure they had eaten before they went anywhere to spend the night unless I was told specifically that they would be eating with the host. Some parents believe that the 'community' WILL care for their child I guess.

Got a call from my son last night. It seems the place he moved into the end of December is a foreclosure home and the rental agent had no right to rent it out. A lady showed up on his doorstep yesterday at around 5:30 PM with the police and said he and his family would have to vacate the premises by Friday or all of their possession's will be thrown out onto the edge of the road. Now that they have no money after paying the rent and security deposit it seems as if there is nothing they can do. At my sons request, I sent an email to one of the local television stations that does investigative reporting uncovering fraudulent business dealings and they are now checking into it. Hope something good comes out of it and they are able to help with finding a new place for them to live! And/or get their money back!

Glad to hear that you're feeling better! We had the 'crud' a few weeks back, don't want to do that again!

That's awful about your son's home, I had a similar experience when I was fresh out of school. I hope that everything works it's self out!

Ohhh my goodness. I can't believe your son's story. Surely the agent will be able to give back all unused rent and security, afterall it is not his fault. I'd even suggest making them pay for the cost of moving. That is what they have to do here. So wrong.

Glad you are feeling better.

What a awful thing to happen to your son. Sheesh what kind of world do we live in?

Yeah, I think the law is even if you purchase a home that has been forclosed, the "forclosed" owner has 6 - 9 months to re-claim the home. That is why when my husband and I were looking to buy a house, we stayed away from the forclosed ones. However, your son can sue the person who rented the home to him. He can get hotel expenses, storage expenses, security deposit, and rent back from this jackass that did this to him (as long as he signed a lease of some sort). You always have to have everything in writing, and he can sue to get compensation!

I am glad you are feeling better, and I hope things work out for your son & his family! Good job calling/emailing the TV stations. We have some great ones in our neck of Michigan and they would fight for your son & I am sure they would get his money back!!!

I would surely contact a lawyer. They shouldn't be able to do that and get away with that. Especially what he had to do to move into that place.

Geeez, I hope you gave that real estate agents name to the television stations.

That's unethical as everything.

Thanks to all for your concern regarding my son and his family. They had signed a lease and have given all information to the TV reporter who called, including the man's name and where he works. Don't know what will happen, but hopefully something good!!!

Hey Martie,

I'm glad you are feeling better. It is wise that you take it easy for a day or two. I take garlic pills during the cold season. I pop 'em like crazy. :)

Anyway -sorry about the news regarding your son and his rental home. In my state, I know there are laws regarding renters and landlords. I have always heard that it was not easy to evict a tenant. My ex had rental property and told me this.

I'll keep positive thoughts for a fair and good outcome. I have a feeling though that the TV station will bring about a fair result.

Yay! New "micro-beamer!"

Hugs!

I'm so glad you're feeling better! The crud sucks. :)~ You're not my mom (even though you feel like my best friends mom) so I can say 'sucks' without guilt.

Keep us informed on your son's situation. Don't you just want to find that son-of-a-B & stomp on him?

That is terrible....I am glad you are being an advocate for him and contacted your local news station...this is not right....and that lady isn't any better if you ask me. She has no compassion....where does she think he is going to find somewhere to live with his family in a weeks notice.....it's things like that that really burn my twizzlers....I truly hope he gets some resolve and that both the rental agent and that lady who arrived at his door gets a good slap on the wrist....

Dear Martie,
So glad you are feeling better. Awful news about your sons living arrangements. I sure hope your e-mail does some good and he will get some kind of compensation. That is just not right.

Take care,
Connie
