MICHIGAN CHILL

This photo is from a ride last Sunday. It was a beautiful day and probably the very last day that we, here in Michigan, will have temps in the 70's and so much sunshine this year! It was really nice.

This week has been very chilly and breezy. The temperature dropped down to below freezing on a couple of nights and we have had frost/freezing warnings and high wind advisories posted. The winds have caused many of the colorful leaves to begin an early descent toward the ground. Hence, many of the trees are "naked" at the top while sporting a full array of color around their mid-section. I don't know why, but this reminds me of a groomed poodle! Strange, I know....but sometimes I'm just strange. Some of the trees are just plain bare at this point and still there are a few that haven't even begun to change color. I suspect that those that haven't turned already are in the oak family and they usually turn brown anyway.

We are finally warm in our house again. Thanks to the 'furnace doctor' and being $3200.00 poorer. But it is well worth it to know that we won't have to worry about it for the rest of this winter at least.

Hope you all stay warm!!

Pretty picture! I've got to believe that new furnace is a lot more efficient, too. We replaced our complete HVAC system w/ a matched system about 18 months ago. I know what you're saying about the expense, but it's worth it in the long run. Have a good weekend!

Hello my friend.....thanks for sharing your little adventure. Glad to hear the furnace doctor arrived. Mine came in the way of 2 cords of wood needing chopping and stacking. Oh woe is me....it's only going to cost me $70.00 to keep warm this winter.....Doug got an awesome deal on the wood. Muscles are a bit tired, but well worth it....

Chat soon....cheers....

I think this is the coldest it's gotten this early in a LONG time.

I'm not too happy about it either!

Glad you're warm again! :)

brrrr!

We had a cold snap this weekend! I'm certain though not as cold as those to the north of us. Saturday morning, we had a slight frost. I ran Saturday morning and still was not hot even after the 4th mile.

Whoa, that is cold! We had cool weather last week but nothing like that. Now we're back in the 70s for the lows.

Yup, we've had a pretty heavy frost already..... it looks pretty on the windows in the morning. :)

Nothing like the smell of a crisp fall morning.... ;)
